Justin P. Russo
Mr. Russo leads the Accident Reconstruction, Cause & Origin, Claims Adjust Services and Loss Prevention services programs at eRisk Solutions. He has been instrumental in the development of risk management tools including Energi LIVE, an interactive portal with customized risk management tools for the industry. Mr. Russo is an authorized OSHA Instructor and National Safety Council Trainer. In addition to training thousands of employees, he has been a guest speaker for industry associations such as Best Practices Group, New York Propane Gas Association, and Propane Gas Association of New England. Justin previously worked for a medical regulatory compliance company developing hazard communication and various safety programs for medical facilities. Mr. Russo is a graduate of Keene State College with a BS in Occupational Safety and Business Management.
Paul R. Nestor, Jr.
Vice President, Claims Management
Mr. Nestor has over 38 years of experience in the insurance claims industry and has gained significant insights on the impact of large losses including those from hazardous material, mold remediation, equipment malfunction, spill response and energy related issues. As the Vice President of Industry Related Claims, he provides critical knowledge and oversight to the team by developing policies and procedures to assure overall quality and timeliness of claims services. Paul has strengthened the Claims Management approach through the integration and cross-team training with the Loss Prevention team members.
Joseph P. DiFranco
Vice President, Technical Investigations
Mr. DiFranco manages the Investigational Management Team, responsible for the early response, evaluation and investigation of all claims and losses including, but not limited to, those involving fire and explosion, accident reconstruction and environmental risk. At eRisk Solutions, Joe has been instrumental in implementing investigators work directly to identify potential areas of liability and subrogation at the earliest point possible in the evolution of a loss, during the investigation. Joe previously was a career firefighter, inspector and investigator with over 30 years of experience. He is a nationally certified fire and explosion investigator and vehicle fire investigator with 14 years of experience in fire and explosion investigations. Joe is the most recent Past President and currently serves on the board of directors for the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts and is also President of Metro Fire Arson Investigators Association in Massachusetts.
Edward P. Scott
Senior Vice President Industry Relations
Mr. Scott joined Energi in 2007 in the Marketing and Industry Relations department. In support of eRisk Solutions, he is currently assisting with litigation management and providing expert opinions on industry related claims for oil and propane accounts. He has been an owner and officer of Scott Oil Co., Inc., a retail Home Heating Oil Company in Massachusetts, since 1975. Mr. Scott has been active in various oil industry associations for many years. He is the past chairman and served on the board of the Massachusetts Energy Marketers Association. Mr. Scott is also a board member of the New England Fuel Institute. In his tenure there he has served on the executive, finance, nominating and legislative committees and as secretary of the organization for many years. Mr. Scott is a founding member of the National Oilheat Research Alliance and currently serves on the board of directors. He also served on the board of the Massachusetts Trade Self Insurance Group which is a workmen’s compensation self-insurance group. Mr. Scott is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross.
E. Scott Garner
Accident Reconstruction Technician
Mr. Garner is currently a member of eRisk Solutions Investigational Management Team responsible for the early response, evaluation, and investigation of all claims and losses through Accident Reconstruction. Mr. Garner retired from the Hurst, Texas Police Department as a 24 year career police officer, accident investigator and DOT Inspector. He is certified in Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Accident Investigation, Accident Reconstruction, Advanced Accident Reconstruction, FARO, and FARO Reality. He has a myriad of experience in Law Enforcement services including SWAT, Crime Scene Investigation, and Hostage Negotiation. Mr. Garner served as the supervisor of the Hurst Police Department Accident Investigation Team and DOT Program where he was responsible for the investigation of all accidents resulting in critical bodily injury or death. During this time he utilized his training in CSI-Crash Data Retrieval Specialist, Commercial Vehicle Collision Investigation, Commercial Vehicle License and Weights, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration North American Standard Part A, B, and C, General Hazardous Materials, Cargo Tank Inspection, Other Bulk Packaging, and Commercial Motor Vehicle Criminal Interdiction. He was also responsible for the continued investigation training and education of his fellow officers at the Hurst Police Department.
Accident Reconstruction Technician
Mr. O’Neill retired at the rank of Sergeant from the Massachusetts State Police to join eRisk Solutions as an in-house Accident Reconstruction Expert in March of 2015, after almost 27 years in uniform. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from UMass Lowell and a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Anna Maria College. After graduation, he joined the Massachusetts Highway Department, building roads and bridges for three years before entering the State Police Academy. In 1991, Mr. O’Neill was certified in Accident Reconstruction and joined the MSP Accident Reconstruction Unit. Following this, he started his own consulting company gaining valuable civil litigation experience. Mr. O’Neill has been recognized as an expert in Accident Reconstruction in a number of District and Superior Courts and is ACTAR Certified (#346). He has taken numerous advanced courses in Accident Reconstruction and is a certified FARO scanner operator.
Timothy J. Butler
Mr. Butler serves as a Technical Investigation for eRisk Solutions. He joined Energi in May of 2015 and previously worked for six years at ENPRO Services Inc., a New England based environmental company. As a project manager for ENPRO, he gained valuable experience managing a variety of environmental projects, most often remediating oil and gasoline spills. Mr. Butler is a graduate of Plymouth State University where he obtained a BS in Geography.
Peter C. Cummings
Mr. Cummings works as a Techinal Investigor for eRisk Solutions with a focus on the investigation of fire and explosion incidents. Prior to joining eRisk Solutions, he was honorably discharged from the Massachusetts State Police after completing twenty-seven years in law enforcement, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. Prior to his retirement from the State Police and in the preceding ten years, he was an investigator/team leader in the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigations Unit within the Office of the State Fire Marshal, as well as an investigator and senior trooper assigned to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. Mr. Cummings has interviewed or interrogated hundreds of witnesses, victims, or suspects during his investigative career. He has also testified as a court-qualified expert on dozens of occasions and has served as an expert witness at the Massachusetts Assistant District Attorneys training sessions. Following his retirement from the Massachusetts State Police, Mr. Cummings continued to expand his expertise by conducting private fire and explosion investigations for insurance companies and individuals. He is a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators, a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator with the National Association of Fire Investigators and a Certified Fire Investigations Instructor with the National Association of Fire Investigators. Mr. Cummings is a member of both organizations as well as the International Association of Fire Investigators, the National Association of Subrogation Professionals and a certified and accredited ProBoard Fire Service Professional. He is a graduate of Western New England College with a BS in Law Enforcement and a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration.
Patrick D. Kettenring
Mr. Kettenring is a Technical Investigator for eRisk Solutions, responsible for conducting fire and explosion investigations, evaluating environmental considerations from product spills and releases due to vehicular crashes and rollovers, and conducting preliminary evaluations of crash investigations and accident reconstruction. Prior to joining the eRisk Solutions team, he was a Fire Consultant for Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. Mr. Kettenring managed origin and cause investigations for structures, vehicles, heavy equipment, commercial marine craft, and aviation equipment. He has over 35 years of fire service experience and an extensive background in fire and explosion investigations. Mr. Kettering is a Certified Fire Investigator with the International Association of Arson Investigators, the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress, the National Association of Fire Investigators, and is Post-Blast trained through the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. He has served as an instructor for fire departments in King and Pierce County, Washington and at the Washington State Fire Service Training Academy as well as being certified as an Instructor for Chemistry of Hazardous Materials at the National Fire Academy. Mr. Kettenring graduated from Bellevue College with an Associate Degrees in Fire Investigation and Fire Command Administration.
James P. Lombard
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, South Central
Mr. Lombard is currently a Regional Vice President of Safety and Loss Prevention in the South Central Region. He has over 12 years’ experience in safety and risk management with extensive background in transportation, training, program development and the oil/gas industry. He served 14 years in the US Air Force and New Mexico Army National Guard where he worked in aviation, the state safety office, and was a Commissioned Officer in the Military Police Corps. Mr. Lombard holds an undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety and Health. He is a Certified Safety Professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the National Safety Council.
Robert D. Flaherty, Jr.
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, Mid-Atlantic
Mr. Flaherty serves currently as Regional Vice President of Safety and Loss Prevention in the Mid-Atlantic region. He as over 25 years of experience in environmental, health & safety, as well as an extensive background in DOT hazardous materials and Federal Motor Carrier compliance. He began his career in environmental field services with Veolia Environmental as a Field Supervisor and has an extensive background performing training on OSHA regulations, DOT hazardous materials, RCRA regulations and FMCSA compliance. Mr. Flaherty has managed a multitude of large scale emergency response projects for many of the Mid Atlantic region’s largest utilities, including JCP&L, PSE&G, Delmarva and First Energy. As Manager of Hazardous Materials & Regulatory Compliance for Jevic Transportation, he was responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant transportation of shipments for some of the nation’s largest chemical companies including Sunoco, Dow Chemical and Rohm & Haas. In his most recent capacity as Transportation Compliance Manager for a large national hazardous waste disposal firm, he was responsible for DOT training, conducting internal audits on FMCSA and PHMSA compliance as well as serving as the company representative for federal DOT compliance audits.
Evan T. Bonney
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, Northeast
Mr. Bonney serves as the Regional Vice President for the Northeast region. He has worked at Energi since 2013, prior to which he gained experience in the transportation and construction fields. Mr. Bonney was instrumental in developing and implementing eRisk Solutions’ fleet of Mobile Training Centers and simulator training program, where he drew from his experience as a fire department officer and fire apparatus driving instructor. Mr. Bonney now manages the New England region for safety and loss prevention, providing loss control services and safety trainings in six states. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New Hampshire and is currently working to complete his ARM designation.
Robert F. Arric
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, South
Mr. Arric serves as the Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention for the South region. He has worked in multiple areas of the energy industry and has an extensive background in Health & Safety and Industrial Hygiene. Prior to joining Energi, Mr. Arric was a Health & Safety specialist for Sunoco, Inc. and Sunoco Logistics, with responsibilities in the refining, chemical, marketing, crude oil pipeline, and crude oil marine terminal business divisions. He is a graduate of Northeastern State University, holding a degree in Safety & Environmental Management and is in the final stages of completing his Master of Public Health degree at Tulane University.
Don R. Houde
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, Midwest
Mr. Houde serves as the Regional vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention of the Midwest region. He has a wide area of knowledge both in general industry and construction through his work in multiple areas of each industry. He has an extensive background in Health & Safety, Hazardous Materials and Fire Investigations. Prior to joining eRisk Solutions, Mr. Houde was the Safety Director for Downeast Energy and was responsible for their Safety Program reducing their overall claims by 54%. He also has worked with TMC Environmental as a Corporate Safety Manager. At TMC Environmental he was responsible for their safety program and creating site specific Health and Safety plans. Mr. Houde has 30 years in the fire service, with 10 years spent as a fire investigator. He is currently a HazMat Specialist and holds both State and Federal Certifications Specializing in LP and all petroleum products.
Brian P. Storjohann
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, West
Mr. Storjohann serves as the Chief Engineering Officer as well as the Regional Vice President of Safety and Loss Prevention for the West region. Prior to joining eRisk Solutions, he served 10 years in the United States Navy as a helicopter pilot where he served on four deployments and acted in a variety of roles including Quality Assurance Officer, Line Maintenance Officer and Air Operations officer to name a few. Mr. Storjohann has since conducted research on several topics such as hydraulic fracturing and hydrogen fuel cell technology among others. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego in 2012.
Regional Vice President of Safety & Loss Prevention, Northwest
Mr. Serbin is currently the Regional Vice President of Loss Prevention and Safety for the Northwest region. He joined Energi in August of 2012 as the Regional Safety Manager for Northern and Central California and bring years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety, implementing safety training programs while managing large-scale construction projects. Mr. Serbin previously worked with Actus Lend Lease as the EH&S Manager in their partnership with SolarCity®, Tucson Electric Power and various financial partners. He managed all aspects of safety programs for Actus Lend Lease, who was responsible for one of the nation’s largest community-based distributed solar power systems that included 81,000 solar panels, both ground-mounted and rooftop systems. Mr. Serbin is a certified OSHA trainer for 10/30-hour classes for both construction and general industry. He is also certified by the National Safety Council to conduct defensive driver training and is certified in HAZWOPER and Asbestos abatement.
